DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT RAM HERE IS ALL THE INFO YOU NEED ABOUT RAM INCLUDING ITS EFFECT ON THE SPEED OF COMPUTER BUY INCREASING SIZE OF RAM .
What is
RAM?
Lets do it in a bullet points system:--
·
Its full form is random access memory.
·
It is form of main memory.
·
It is a volatile memory i.e the memory stored in
RAM gets deleted after the system is turned off.
·
It is used to store working data and machine
code.
·
It can read and write in almost same times which
is better then hard discs , CD-RWs , DVD-RWs which takes more time in reading ,
writing as they have limitations such as media rotation speeds and arm
movements.
More about RAM
In todays world RAM takes the form of integrated circuit (IC) chips with MOS (metal-oxide-semiconductor) memory
cells. RAM is normally associated with volatile types of memory (such as DRAM modules),
where stored information is lost if power is removed, although non-volatile RAM
has also been developed .
TYPES OF
RAMs
The two main types of volatile random-access semiconductor memory are static
random-access memory (SRAM) and dynamic
random-access memory (DRAM).
Now the main question comes does more RAM means
faster computer ?
This myth is half and true and half false you can say more of
its side is over false. If you are a light computer user you can work with 4 gb
of RAM , but if you are a moderate one you can use 8 gb of ram which is more
then enough and if you are a gmaer 16 gb of ram or above is recommended . The
whole thing is that RAM holds up the program which you open on computers . for example
:- if you open MS-office then it will open in RAM and it will hold the data
till it the program Is opened in the operating system . now if you open
MS-paint then the data of ms paint will get open in ram and stored in it and
now if you close the ms word some of the files in ram will get deleted but some
of it will remain for quickly starting the program i.e ms word here and when
you will switch of the main system every data stored on ram will get deleted .
there fore its better to save your file before shutting down pc cause that data get stored in hard disc
What is the difference
between SDRAM,DDR2,DDR3,DDR4
The main difference is the speed and voltage used by ram .
this is like the generation of ram the more is the number the better is the ram
as it will speed up your speed of opening of program (speed also depends on
processor) and will lower the electricity bill as it take less voltage as we go
to the new technology of RAM.
Here you can have a look at table for more info
